About Us

Empire Pawn of Nassau is a family-owned jewelry buying and pawn business in East Meadow, Nassau County, New York, specializing in fine jewelry, diamonds, gold, silver, estate jewelry, vintage jewelry, watches, coins and other precious metals. The business traces its jewelry-business roots to 1930 and established its pawn-loan business in 1990.

Our History

Empire Pawn is owned and operated by Mitch Kushner, a third generation jeweler. Mr. Kushner’s family has been in the jewelry business since 1930, and after 60 years, Kushner established the loan business in 1990. Empire Pawn is now recognized as the oldest established pawn broker and jewelry buyer on Long Island.

Empire Pawn’s on-site appraisers have received education by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), including a professionally certified GIA appraiser. This ensures we provide specialized knowledge in evaluating fine jewelry, diamonds and precious metals.

Empire Pawn is a member of National Pawnbrokers Association, (NPA), and complies with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations governing pawn transactions and precious-metal buying.
